If I had to try and sum myself up, I don’t think I really could in any clean or final way. I’m still in the middle of becoming, still learning what parts of me are permanent and what parts are just passing through. And honestly, that feels like the most accurate thing I can say right now. This space isn’t about presenting a finished version of myself. It’s about documenting the in-between, the thoughts that don’t always get said out loud, the patterns I notice in myself, and the moments that feel heavier or more meaningful than they should.
Some of what I write here will probably be messy. Some of it might not make sense to anyone else. And some of it might feel ordinary on the surface, but sit differently depending on where you are in your own life. I think that’s kind of the point. Life isn’t usually clear or neatly categorized while you’re living it. It only starts to look that way when you look back. I don’t really want to wait for that distance before I start trying to understand it.
As for who I am in a more direct sense, I’ll keep that a bit vague on purpose. Not because I’m hiding, but because I want this space to be more about experience than identity labels. I’m someone who’s lived through both highs and lows, and will continue to do so. I’m an introvert, more observant than loud, and I tend to carry things internally longer than I should. I was diagnosed in college with depression, anxiety, and OCD, which shaped how I understand myself but doesn’t fully define me. I also live with a couple chronic illnesses that I don’t always talk about openly, mostly just out of habit and privacy.
On paper, I did well academically. I graduated with a 4.0, but that doesn’t really capture much about the day-to-day reality of life outside of that. I live in the Midwest, I have a dog and a cat, and my life, like most people’s, is a mix of stability in some places and uncertainty in others. My family situation is complicated. Still together, but not always in a way that feels whole, and that will likely show up in things I write here because it’s shaped a lot of how I see relationships and distance.
I have an older sister and a younger brother, and those dynamics matter more than I probably realize. My interests tend to be quieter ones like music, reading, cooking, baking, and travel. Things that give me space to think while I’m doing them. I’ve always believed, in a loose way, that things happen for a reason. I call it fate, but not in a strict or rigid sense. More like a way of trying to make peace with uncertainty.
I’m also someone who feels things deeply, even if I don’t always express it outwardly. I care a lot about people, maybe more than I know how to show sometimes. I want to make people feel better, or lighter, or less alone, even if I’m not always the most comfortable in social spaces myself.
If there’s a simple thread through all of this, it’s probably just that I’m trying to understand life as it’s happening, not just after it’s already passed. This blog is part reflection, part outlet, and part attempt to put words to things that don’t always fit neatly in conversation.
And if any of it connects with someone else along the way, that would mean something. But even if it doesn’t, it still serves its purpose. This is a place for honesty, even when it’s unfinished.
